Italy’s first capsule hotel, BednBoarding (shortened to BenBo), has opened at the Naples Capodichino International Airport.
Designed by Carlotta Tartone of Studiotre of Naples, together with marketing manager Carlotta Tartarone of hotel brand Dorelan, the airport hotel is made up of 42 capsule rooms that also includes a lobby, a shared general space, and 16 private bathrooms.

Plants scattered throughout the lobby keep the space feeling fresh and welcoming while the large windows let in natural light to keep the space bright.

An elevated platform at the front of the hotel provides guests with a bright spot to sit with their laptops, books, or snacks, and has large windows that help brighten up the space.

The exterior of each capsule is painted either white, orange or light green and is identified by a number painted onto the floor at the entrance. Depending on your needs, the capsules can be used for as little as an hour or as long as 9 hours, making layovers a lot more comfortable.

Each capsule is 4 square meters and has soundproof walls, an automatic door, a window with blinds, a drop down table/desk, a television, a mirror, hangers, and a shoe storage compartment that’s seen from the outside of the capsule but can only be accessed from inside.

There are 16 bathrooms in the hotel, each with its own toilet, sink, and shower to help you freshen up before the next leg of your journey.
