Vancouver-based firm Bricault Design have recently completed the newly opened Pangea Pod Hotel in Whistler, Canada.
Originally the building was a 1970s time-share apartment block, however Bricault’s renovation transformed the building into a pod hotel with 88 sleeping pods, and a new public bar and eatery.

Some of the original materials from when it was an apartment building were re-purposed, such as the copper pipes from the building’s old plumbing system, and they were used in custom design features throughout lounge and cafe areas. On the ceiling, hexagonal mirrors and lights have been installed and draw the eye upwards.

The pods of the hotel are grouped into suites that include their own amenities such as washrooms, showers and change rooms.

Inside the pods are soft LED lights, a mirror, shelving, a lockable cabinet, electrical charging stations, and secure space for a luggage.

The pod hotel also has a secure room for gear storage, that features toy box components that can fold and stow, morphing the design to suit the seasonal requirements.
